Director of R&D

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of R&D to lead the growth of the R&D department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multidisciplinary product development and a proven track record of building and managing successful R&D teams. They will provide both the strategic direction of the R&D department and also be actively involved in hands-on R&D activities. This is a hybrid role, located in Tel Aviv.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.

  • Build and lead a high-performing R&D team, including hiring, training, and mentoring team members.

  • Actively participate in hands-on R&D activities.

  • Oversee all aspects of the R&D process, from ideation to production and commercialization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.

  • Drive innovation and creativity within the R&D department, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and marketing, to ensure alignment and synergy.

  • Manage R&D budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to meet project goals and milestones.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform R&D strategy and decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for all R&D activities.

  • Oversee outsourced contractor's activity and align it with the internal team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

  • Strong background in software development or managing software developers in companies with multidisciplinary products, which includes hardware, software, communication, and a mobile app.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D leadership roles with a proven track record of successfully recruiting and managing R&D teams.

  • Strong technical expertise in research methodologies, experimental design, and product development processes.

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their full potential.

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and manage resources effectively.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Experience in connected devices preferred.
